Arrow Rock's most fun weekend is coming right up! Join us at Chez for fresh homemade sausages, bison burgers, traditional soups, and more! Open for lunch Saturday and Sunday during Craft Fest. It's like taking a trip back in time when you attend the 48th annual Heritage Festival in Arrow Rock, Missouri! Gifted artisans in period dress demonstrate and sell their lost-arts crafts. There's music, food, shopping, a Wild West shootout, a Santa Fe trader encampment, and the unbeatable scenery of this picturesque National Historic Landmark village in autumn. This year's festival takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 9. Admission is $2 per person and includes parking and shuttle transportation. Chez Trappeur loves The Wine Cellar of Columbia. We especially admire their continuing devotion to local and organic dishes, their Garden Project, and their extensive organic and biodynamic wine selection. It's our 2nd annual Walleye Weekend! Dana & Ethan have once again fished for your dinner in the pristine waters of Lake of the Woods, Ontario. Walleye served two ways this weekend only. (and it's limited; those mean Canadians won't let us bring back much!)

Today we picked up our latest whole hog at the processor. This Glouchestershire Old Spot, a heritage breed, was pasture-raised at Stonner Farm outside of Jefferson City. All of our meats always come from local sources and we get excited about serving things like braised tenderloin, house-made sausage, and house-cured bacon from pigs raised humanely on open pasture.
